The evaluation of the chemical contamination of soil begins with a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA). As part of our Phase I, we collected as much historical data on your site and adjacent properties, where possible prior to development. Based on the historical data, we assess the potential for environmental impacts to the site originating from both on-site or off-site the property. If historical records indicate a potential concern, we will recommend a Phase II ESA, soil sampling. As part of our Phase II, we characterize, assess and test the drilled tailing (i.e. soil) on your site. The drill location(s) selected are based on the historical information of the site. Upon receipt of the laboratory results, if parameters selected are found to be above permissible limits we can assist in the removal or management of the contaminants present, Phase III.
Standard values are compared to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) document titled “Soil, Groundwater and Sediment Standards for Use Under Part XV.1 of the Environmental Protection Act”, dated April 15, 2011 or an equivalent standard or guideline.
